Pan American Games 2015
The Pan American Games are the world’s third largest international multi-sport games, only surpassed by the Olympic Games and Asian Games. Being able to attend this event is the highlight of many athletes’ careers. Like the Olympics, it runs in 4 year cycles, always taking place the year before the Olympics. Many athletes and teams will compete for a coveted spot at the Olympics in Rio de Janerio in 2016. This year the Pan American Games will be held in Toronto, Canada in the month of July.
For the second time, Lauren Billys will get the opportunity to attend this prestigious event and represent Puerto Rico in the sport of three-day eventing. Lauren will be taking the Purdy Syndicate, LLC’s Castle Larchfield Purdy to compete for the gold medal amongst the best riders in the western hemisphere.
In 2011, Lauren was able to attend the Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico because her community supported her efforts and raised enough money to send her horse and coaches to Mexico. In that same effort, an event will be held to raise the funds necessary for the trip to Toronto. Keep reading below to find out how you can donate and/or buy tickets for the event. Remember a bale of a hay costs $20 and that can feed a horse for a week, a donation of ANY size can make a difference!
